I can't get the Door Ajar warning light on the dash or the irritating buzzer to stop. It is driving me nuts! The doors are shut, the interior light is off, but it says door is ajar and buzzes. Is the sensor that is at the front of the door that when it gets depressed making the interior lights go out the same that determines if the door is ajar?
On my 71 the buzzer is wired into the horn relay on the driver's side fender wall. Just fine the right wire and unplug it. That will take care of the buzzing. However, if it is constantly buzzing then you have a running circuit with that door pin which could drain your battery, although slowly, if left on.

This is on a 76 and it is making me batty!
My 72 had the door ajar light on. I had to replace and adjust the activation plunger at the door.
the plunger at the rear of the door controls the door ajar light. There might be a buzzer that is supposed to be attatched to the front plunger because that switch has an extra connector on it, but mine doesn't have anything on that connector.
Something else to check is that the doors are depressing the rear plunger enough when closed, mine had to be adjusted a little to work...the previous owner's solution was to put a piece of black tape over the door ajar light.
