Default Door Latch lubing

I have taken the door latch off of one of the doors just because it looks so awful from outside. My goal is to have the power windows, door locks and handle all glide really easily.
The door latch is off and I have wire brushed externally as much as possible but the rotating pieces and springs are not as exposed. How do you get in there so that you can clean all of that up ? Or do most just replace the door latch entirely. I could just spray white lithium grease onto it and hope for the best..

Put it in a coffee can with some solvent and slosh it around for a while. Be careful with whatever solvent you use. Some are toxic and most are very flamiable. I use gasoline alot myself, but be carfull and use rubber gloves. Get a parts cleaning brush--usually about 2" stiff brisels about 1" in dia.
