Default Thoughts On Oil Viscosity?

Quick question. Stock 350, 72k original miles. Never rebuilt. Pretty tight motor overall. What oil weight would you experts recommend? 10w30? 10w40? 20w50? Synthetic or not? I notice that my oil pressure seems lower with the lighter weight oil - is that possible? I also live in a hot climate. Thoughts please? Thanks in advance!

Being in Florida I'd probably use a straight 30 wt oil. Nothing at all wrong with the synthetics but changing oil and filter often and using any quality oil works well too. 72K is not many miles but there is some bearing wear therefore a bit lower oil pressure....maybe 15-20 at idle and increase to 30-40 while driving. You shouldn't need the 10-30 wt oil. edit.......but if you like it, use it. Won't hurt a thing.

10-w30 or 20w-50 synthetic. Go with Castrol Syntec for the 1st oil change & then on to straight syn.
