I know awhile back there was info on conversions that guys did with c4-c5 seats. Can someone refresh my memory to what those threads may be? I am wanting this for my c-3. Any years fit better? Height a problem? Is there any aftermarket seats that work well? Anyone put full power electric from a c-4? I know, alot of questions but what I dont know I dont know, I do ask. thankyou
From: Bedford Iowa, i didn't know spending this much money could be so fun!!
i to am looking to find out which after market steats will fit, from what i understund the biggest problem is the seat not fitting due to it being to wide.
Can't help you with specific threads but here are pics of the C5 seats I installed. These are non-power seats and I used the C3 seat tracks to mount them. Got the seats from a forum member in the C5 section. The C5 seats are so much more comfortable and they are a few inches taller which means you can see more of the road in front of you. The seat backs also are taller per my pic.
I am interested too in an aftermarket seat you can run a harness through. Something similar to Rave Sport Recliner by Scat, but it looks too wide to fit. You can see at www.procarbyscat.com. Price is reasonable. Anyway, I'll keep searching. Open for suggestions. Thanks in advance.
There are c5 seats with a hole in the backrest that allows for a shoulder harness. I believe they are called "sport" seats. Someone will correct me if this is wrong. I like the look.
Corbeau A4's fit, as does the GTS seat they make. Any seat that is no wider than 20.5" wide at the base should fit........just be prepared to make/modify mounting brackets.
I looked into doing seats a while back, just didn't have the cash. I had decided on c5 seats, mostly for the comfort, but also can pick them up for a reasonable price. Not to mention i am biased to keeping all corvette, or at least almost.
