OK so after reading all the posts on installing a 200 r4 tranny and getting to thinking yes please, what is a good make to go for. Have looked at Bowtie, have looked on Ebay. Which trannys have you guys got installed?
As im in the UK, warranty wont really come into it due to shipping so customer recommendations is the way to go.
( Im looking at the 200 r4 for ease of installation, ie I want a direct bolt in replacement for my 75 3 speed )
I want to replace the three speed in my 81. What year cars or trucks had these transmissions? There might be one laying around I can get if I knew what cars had them??
I've read that the 86 or 87 Buick Grand National is the vehicle you'll want to get the tranny from if you don't want to buy one already built up. The Grand National tranny is a more heavy duty tranny than the others you'll find.
