Surely this is political correctness gone mad! If peolpe ask for help and are given suggestions as to what may or not help, it is up to the individual to assess the risks of following someones advice. I understand that this may be difficult as some might take a reply to a post literally and follow it word for word if they have no mechanical/vette ability but surley we need a place where we are able to ask questions and receive replies. I would be lost without the wealth of information many of the guys here on the forums possess!

If anybody has carried out a mod or done some particular work on their car that a n00b asks info on, if they post what they have done, it is no guarantee that it will work or will not cause damage. Surely as a forum, that is accepted?

Before anyone is allowed to sign up for a forum they should just tick a box that says if I screw up my car because I followed some advice, no comeback!

Have I missed the point here or what?
BTW I would like to have seen the post on the tranny install as I hope to be doing if shortly.

Forums are for helping others. If I tell someone to drive their vette without any brakes does that mean Im responsible for their death when they crash? Common sense has to prevail.
We ask for help or suggest things that we have done that may help. If someone screws up c'est la vie. I for one wouldnt hold any of you guys responsible. Its up to me to verify the information received and act on it accordingly.

Rant over...I think.

Yes, please explain your statement. Of course no one should ever do anything to modify anything for any reason at any time. But you know when I lost a little weight I took it upon myself to punch a new hole in my belt, therfore modifying the original equipment. I did not consult a lawyer or even a structural engineer. But I feel confident I performed the modification in a sound and acceptable way with no life safety issues raised.
Are you being sued? I suspect something in your second post which was deleted may have some explanation, but without some clarification of your blanket statement, it makes about as much sense as saying, "Upon advice of legal council do not paint your car red."
