Not gonna happen with any aircleaner.........the L-88 hood with the big drop aircleaner just barely clears in the C-3.

Most people will tell you that they have been more than a little displeased with the Torker II on their rat motor. Being a single plane, it kills all of the low end throttle response.

If it were me, I would just give up and swap hoods, why would you want to spring for the bad boy 502 and then kill it with a low (no) performance manifold? It was for this reason that I went with a 496 with rect. port heads instead of a 502. I am using a LS6 vette intake so my hood will close.

I have heard that the Torker is not too bad on the bottom end. Besides, with a 502, you might do good to lose a litle down low and pick it up at the top. I would think a 502 would have plenty of bottom end torque. Might be worth a try, IMO.

While I cannot provide firsthand experience with this manifold, I can say that I spoke with several people when I was considering this intake. Most people said that the torker gave them an off-idle bog that they couldn't tune out. I think Zwede may have been one of the people that told me this, but I have heard the same report from others.

I suppose if that if the primary use of this vehicle was going to be strip instead of street, then giving up low end grunt is ok. But, if you want a real stop light to stop light door slammer I would stay away from this intake.

I think there is a difference between the Torker and Torker II. The Torker II is designed more for a street driven car and gives a bit more bottom end. I had one on a 454 street/strip car a few years back and there never seemed to be a lack of bottom end power. The car ran mid 11's with stock oval port smog heads. I would give it a try.
