Default header paint

has anyone used a header paint or coating that will not burn off? mine is a big block.

Yes, the vhf 1500 degree stuff works ok if you cure it by running the engine a few minutes and letting the headers cool down. Doing this about 3 times worked well for me. It has not burned off.

Just go to your local auto parts store (NAPA, etc.) and pick up a can or two. I put some on mine and they lasted 25 years or so without flaking or burning. Get the stuff that says VHT (very high temperature).
