I've thought about it, but so many people like the trick C3 door handles, it'd be a shame to get rid of em. Besides, they're already flush with the body.

I look at a C3's door handles then I look at a C4's and I ask myself why did they go backwards?
Shaved door handles can be cool on a car but a C3 is probably the last car that needs it.
I did it on the last car I built. The general consensus so far, seems to be that it's little return on your effort, for a LOT of trouble.
Unless you're building a car, where the handles protrude and really ruin the looks of what you're trying to accomplish, I'd recommend you pass on this mod.
You'd need remote door mechanisms (~$120), glassing in the holes, rearranging the door latch linkage so that it'll trip the latches reliably, and STILL maintain proper (inside) door handle operation... And you MUST include a way to bypass the "brain" of the door latch actuators, in case the electronic unit fails.
If you're battery goes dead, you'll be S__T OUT OF LUCK.
All told...? On the Vette... Don't do it. FAR more trouble then it's worth.
Thanks for all the input. Serious and otherwise. I guess I don't dare mention the lambo doors.
I think anyone has the right to do whatever they want to their car no matter how ridiculous. Sure I will give people very strong advice if they are thinking of doing something I think is crazy, but if they go ahead and do it anyway I won't bust their chops over it.
Having said that I did actually see a C3 with lambo doors last weekend at a show here in Sydney. The guy who owns the car is actually doing the conversions for A$4500 hahahahaha I had a long look at the setup and it looks the same as the $500 kits you can buy off ebay.........lol
.....oh yeah and imho I think they look like crap, but decide for yourself....................
and here is another shot of it

I did it to my vette last year. Glassing in the hole and filling it was no problem. The poppers on the other hand gave me a little problem. There isn't much room in the door and my first attempt had the poppers hitting the glass when the window was all the way down. So I had to move them down and over a bit, so far they seeem to work great. I still haven't put the actual door popper in, the new waetherstripping has been able to push them out.
