I have a new door jam switch for the courtisy lights. There is a black and a white wire that should be connected to the switch. The switch has three small holes in a plastic capsul on the end of the push rod.
Kinda complicated to describe but I'll give it a go...
The two wires should each have a metal connector attached to them.
The connector is channel shaped and longer than the plastic piece.
The connectors slide up into two of the holes in the plastic piece (doesn't matter which two) and the top of the channel is bent over preventing the metal channel from sliding back out while also forming a contact area. Once in place pushing on the plunger of the switch causes the plastic piece containing the two wires to push away from a small metal disk which (when closed/touching) completes the circuit.
