how high do i have to be to try this as a "weekend mechanic"?
But seriously, how high do i have to lift the body in order to roll the frame out from under it? i plan on rolling it out the front with the engine, trans, gas tank still in place.
after tying knots in my sling i have just over 3' of travel. is this enough??
i don't want to get the body up in the air only to realise i need another 6"!
high point on front of frame/engine should be intake if you remove carb and distributor, and frame/gas tank but you can remove the tank too. also let some air out of your tires, I believe some have even taken the tires off the rims.
The main thing you need to clear is the fuel tank. Once the body is up in the air, roll the chassis backward. This will give you a little more wiggle room than trying to roll it forward. Just be sure to take it slow and check for anything that may get hung up during the lift. Good Luck
