q-jet rebuild
i'm in the dc metro area and i need to have my carb rebuilt. i have an email out to the main man but does someone know of any competent people that you've dealt with in this area... thanks

Give Tony's Corvette Shop in Gaithersburg (http://www.tonyscorvetteshop.com/) a call. If they don't do it, they will know who does and Tony's is a very reliable/honest shop.

i took my 71BB up to his shop when i first bought it to fix some things to get it through inspection and he told my car wasn't worth spending any money on. don't know if he was trying to get me to sell it to him or what...i know he has a good rep and all but honestly, would you take your car back to someone that told you that?

Hmmmm, is there something horribly wrong with your 71? It looks great in the picture. Can't imagine why Tony would say that. I haven't had any personal experience with him other than meeting him at a couple of Northern Virginia Corvette Club events when I was living in Manassas, VA. He came highly recommended by everyone in the club, but they could have been wrong.

no there's nothing horribly wrong at all, unless there was some alterior motive that i have no idea what that could be. compared to some of the vettes i've seen its in remarkable shape. i do believe he has a superb operation going but he won't get anymore of my money... nothing personal
