Default Custom head liner?

Anyone ever done a custom head liner on a removeable hard top? Seems like the origional was a multi-piece unit that is prone to warpage.

YES< when I had the hardtop to my convetible, I noticed the vinyl had dried out over the decades, and warped the large primary piece, and the other smaller pieces not so badly....

so I stripped off the old vinyl....and noticed the 'cardboard' old egg crate looking sort of material had warped to the bad shape...
so I played with it in the sunshine on a summer day....soaked hell out of the stuff with gargen hose, guessed at what the shape was supposed to be, by refitting and noting what was rong...then propping it up to dry forced into new postioin by tape measure....same with smaller pieces...

so in a day or so it was dry and into the correct shape....

I then used spray adhesive and some super thin foam, and covered it with black polar fleece from a yard goods store....

nice stretchy easy to work with material...couple of sawhorses with a 4x8 plywood table took care of the space in the garage...

whole thing took about a weekend...

Default ? sourcing another "cardboard eggrate" ?

That's a GREAT post Gene/mrvette ... thanks!

I bought a hardtop a few months back ... it needs reconditioning throughout.

But ... it's missing one of those "cardboard eggcrate" pieces ... where does one find a replacement? Vette boneyard only? Aftermarket?
