I finally found where I'm getting a leak in my back compartment. The lid gutters have two exit holes for drainage. The water goes through the holes and is suppose to go through a rubber hose to the other drain area where the back grills are. The problem is to the outside of these gutter holes water cannot exit because it slants down as you go away from center and just collects on the extreme outer ends of the cavity. I must have tiny cracks in this part of the cavity and its leaking.
Has anyone seen this before? I was thinking of using some type of liquid sealant that I could pour into the outer ends of the cavity which could get into the tiny crack/s then harden to seal em up.
If you're getting water leaks at the side then it sounds more like your weather strip isn't sealing in that area. My only rear compartment leak has been from debri blocking the astro vents in the rear compartment like GD said.
The drain tubes are redily available for coupes. Hard to find for Convertibles. What happens is over time the rubber drain tube shrinks (don't ask me why) and then you get a situation where enough rain/car wash pressure etc can get out where the loose drain tube fits. I pulled mine down and used silicon to seal it as best as I could. If you do decide to replace them, and manage to find new ones then you need to pull the gas tank to get access. There are 3 rivets that hold a metal cover flange on the end of the drain tube. It is very hard to see with the tank in but it can be done. If you are disjointed you may even be able to change it with the tank in. The weatherstip may help but ulitmately the plumbing gets rid of the water.
I'm almost positive the rubber hoses are clear and look in good shape. From inside the compartment you can see the drips coming out the bottom of the fiberglass gutter trough(troff?) where it makes a bigger square shape at the end. Even if the hoses were blocked its still coming out some kind of crack in the fiberglass.
I bought some resin and hardener and poured in about 1oz on each side while jacking the car to lean to one side to try and seal the hidden cracks. I'll check it tonight to see if it leaks.

Gotta photo of the "offending" area we could look at?
If you have body cracks in that area then you may have bigger problems. If, on the other hand, the water is simply building up in the decklid gutter and spilling over into the rear compartment then I would still take a look at the age and sealing ability of the weatherstrip in that area.
