Default Two Prong Sensor

Hi All,

First post. I have a 73 with a 350. I am replacing the stock heads with aluminum heads and do not know what the two prong sensor on the passenger side head is. I think it's a temp sensor, couldn't find it in the shop manual or Motor's manual. The single prong sensor on the driver's side I think is the sending unit for the temp gauge. Great forum.

Thanks,
Ed

a 2 prong sensor is usually a temperature switch for switching a ground, most commonly used for electric fans. I don't know if it's original equipment on a 73 and if so what it would be used for (probably some kind of emissions equipment)

It appears to be OEM, the harness has a plug that connects to the sensor/switch. Thanks.

Finally, found out what it was. It is a temperature senor on 4 Speed cars to raise the RPM for emissions. Nice place for a plug.
