Default T-top shades

I have a 78 Vette, with the glass t-tops. If you lokk at them from the outside, they look identical. When you are inside the car and looking out, they have different color tints. It seemed odd to me, but I had another guy tell me he thought they were supposed to be like that, but I forgot the reason. The question I have, is that correct, or are they supposed to be the same tint looking out. I don't figure it is right, but when you look on the outside, the numbers match each other, and they even list the same tinting.

very weird indeed...I've been through 3 types of tops for my '78 so maybe I can help a bit. My first set were mirror and had a blueish tint from inside. My 2nd set were mirror too but had a bronze tint from inside. And my 3rd set are black tinted. So if you have a blueish and a bronze, then maybe the bronze one is not original. Hope this helps.

They are supposed to be the same color, mine are like that also, I think one broke and the previous owner replaced it. One is blue and the other is green.

I was told that as they age they fade and turn yellow if not garaged or covered and generally well taken care of. The blue will turn green or yellow. I broke my passenger side and was told that in order to match I could send it to the company I called and they would do their best to match the shade. They said it would be between $250 to $900 for the replacement top (yes just for one) When I told him mine were still nice and blue he said to figure on closer to $900.

Oh well, Carlisle here I come!
