I'm looking at buying at 70 LT1 convertible. The owner said, "it doesn't have the air pump because the 70s didn't come with one, only the 71 and 72s did." I have seen pictures on the web that do show the pump installed on 1970 car. Question, did the 1970 LT1 Corvette engine come with the air injectoin pump as original equipment? Anyone have a good picture of one?
No ignition sheilding is right for a ZR1 but I alway thought that the vent tube on the primary bowl was a ZR1 carb. I certainly could be wrong. Some of the vacuum hoses coming off the intake are going to the vacuum tank. The one with the white filter should go to the vacuum tank. Weird routing but it could be correct. I'm far from a NCRS guy.

Good pick. Just looked in my dobbins fact book. Although it states the LT1 and the ZR1 share the same carb, when I look at the pic of each, you're right. The ZR1 has that vent tube on the primary side. Live and learn
My 70 LT-1 was missing the A.I.R since before I got it. but I am sure it never had a gas vapor tank. I took some pics of the red 70 LT-1 that spent a couple of years down at the Corvette Museum a few years ago. The only thing I noticed about it is they have the valve covers reversed My carb also doesn't have the little valve on top of the primary fuel bowl either.
This car has an evaporative control system (ECS) which was standard on all cars in 71 but only on 70s delivered in CA. 70 LT-1s delivered to CA had a different carb and a metal heat shield. You can also see the hose running from the driver side PCV valve to the ECS carbon canister. Non CA 70s did not have that as seen on the red LT-1.
To answer the original question, all LT-1s came with AIR.
