Can I put a 72 Vette rear pumpkin / carrier in my 78? From research, all I may have to do is change the spring mounting plate? Is this correct?

The junkie bible acording to: Hollander says,

1 CORVET 66-79 737B
2 CORVET 63-65 737A

When interchanging A & B it is necessary to include the carrier bracket bolts & nuts.
Has two carrier bracket bolts at front of carrier.

Yes the carrier from the 72 will fit the 78 housing. You'll have to set it up of course as the shims and pattern will not be the same.

Yes it bolt in. You have to change the mounting plate and spring. You can avoid doing this by taking the cover off of your original diff and put it on the 72 diff.
