My driver's license says I'm 56. I now have a 1980 L-82. But my first Vett was a 1982 which I bought brand new and got to drive off the showroom floor. After a few years I traded it in on a 1985. It was the first 4+3 equiped Vett in the state and was built in Bowlingreen with my name on it. It had the Z-51 package and sport seats which was about every option available. Now I'm going backwards. After I get my 80 perfect I want to trade it for a 70 or 71.
I really doubt that anyone buying a C3 is going through a Mid-Life crisis. They take way too much of your time keeping them nice and pretty and running. I see a lot of young (looking for a life) and old dudes (mid-life crisis) driving C5's. I think they buy the new ones because all they have to do is jump in it and drive. Us C3'ers have to wrench them before going for a cruise ... and sometimes wrench on them during the cruise. Most of us are just buying what we couldn't when they were new.
 to all Vette drivers, assuming you can still see the :seeya
I am just a young buck. 26. I will have my vette 2 years this Winter and I am still in love. As far as having a midlife crisis, my wife likes to blame the Vette on it and I just figured why argue.
I turn 40 in nine days. Bought the Vette 9 months ago. At the time, I didn't think it had anything to do with a mid-life crisis because I had wanted a Vette since I was seven. Now, I'm not so sure. I'm not taking this 40 thing very well :cry The problem is, my wife and I have two sports cars and no kids, so we can't relate to most people our own age with their minivans and soccer, and they could care a less about our new Tremec or 383.
I was born during a very good year 1939. My first Vette was purchased in 1967, a 1964 conv Black/Red 327-350 four speed. I purchased a 1977 cpe Red/Red m40 350/180 last Nov., restored the interior and hope to see some of you at Carlisle in a couple of weeks. A very young 62! :yesnod:
54 years old and after a quintuple by-pass now feel like I am 21 (and act like it too)
You might say I underwent a "body-open" restoration, now if I can finish the restoration of my Corvette, we will be both be good as new again. :D
