My 76 dose not start.
Like I said i have a 76, with a none telescopic steering colum. When i turn over the key the car dosen't start. But I have been abole to jump the starter and it turns over fine. I also tested the starter wire with a multimeater and it shows no activity. Any tests I should do? or has anyone ran into this problem before?

Current draw with the ignition in the ON position seemed normal. But I couldn't get the motor to turn over unless it was jumpered. It ended up being a bad starter. With your door closed and all accessories turned off, what kind of current is being pulled when the ignition switch is in the ON position?
if its automatic trans it could be the neutral safety switch.
if it is an AT car try it in neutral as sometimes they will get out of adjustment and wont start in park
