Default Looks like a great selection

I like that cam, if you use it let me know... I am still pondering cam selection myself! But it looks like a good one for a 454 cid motor.

That will work w/ your setup & over 400 HP. Yes, should replace valve springs & timing set. You could go to Comp Cams 1.72 roller tip rockers.

hey cardo, couldn't find it...took it to a vette shop and the guy said the carb needs to be rebuilt... on its way to colorado... couldn't find a vacuum leak or anything... so it seems a rebuild is in order...

U will be much happier when lars finishes that carb for u. I couldn't believe he only charges 100 bucks. U may have had some internal leaks that will get a fix'n as lar's tests runs the carb before return. And it was a lifesaver not having to deal with carb issues when starting up my eng after new heads and cam - as i'm sure u will find out. Yes that was a good move to get a reliable carb installed before internal mods.

Also no need to upgrade the cam the same time as the heads. U may consider porting and installing the heads then new cam later once u get the bugs out. IMHO heads are an easier R&R than cam.

Good luck. cardo0

You should install the springs listed for the cam . Another Mfg.'s springs will do as long as the spring pressure is the same. Too heavy pressure may snap the cam or wipe out the lobes.

i ordered my voodoo yesterday from summit. in talking with the tech i inquired about new springs and told him that a previous owner had installed dbl springs to make it look like an ls6. his response was i may not need springs then but check for coil bind after i install the cam. still lookin for a machinist in this area to do the heads. got my taxes done and convinced the wife we needed some more ponies. great girl she is...

Here's the Lunati link for your cam:

http://www.holley.com/products.asp?product=60203LK

Also, there is a lot of good discussion here if you do a search for "Voodoo 268" including guys asking the same questions you are:

http://www.chevelles.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=13

The guy who designed the Voodoo series of cams also stops in there occasionally.

I'm collecting parts for my 454 build and right now my cam of choice is the Lunati 502A3LUN solid roller.

Good Luck.
