Default Vapor Lock Tips???

My vette runs great but when I park it after it has heated up, it will not start until the third time I crank it over.
The starter cranks over perfect every time. If I shut it off, it will fire right back up instantly within 10 minutes of turning it off. But after ten minutes or so it seems a little hard to start.
I use to have a clear fuel filter right by the carb and when I was done driving I could pop the hood and see air bubbles just filling up the fuel filter.
I replaced the fuel filter with a regular steel one in the same place. Should my fuel filter be somewhere else so it doesn't catch a whole pocket of air there?

Thanks

It sounds like we're both having the same problem. My LT-1 does not have and external fuel filter but it does feed from a single line whereas the base has a feed and return line. I'd also like some tips on vapor lock.

You could try installing a heat shield with a thin 3/8" spacer to help keep the heat fromm transferring up into your carb & ultimately your fuel. I installed one from Summit Racing for I think around $25. I think some of the 1st gen Camaros actually might have come from the factory with a similar set up.

Hope this helps, not much money to try. Maybe others will have a better fix or suggestions.

For one thing, if you car was equipped with a return line sys make sure it stays hooked up. Sometimes when people switch to aftermarket fuel pumps they just bypass and plug the return line. Not a good idea for a car that will see high underhood temps. Go the extra and take the steps to retain the return line when switching to a different pump.
