hey, i've been thinking of it and i am probably gonna run a TPI system off a newer vette instead of a carburator. As long as i can get the parts cheap and used i'm all set it's just i don't know were to start or what to do, like if it will just bolt on or watever, help will be much appreciated!

You can get used TPI set-ups off ebay from $150 - 400, I actually bought one for my 82 and ended up re-selling it because I decided not to mess with the wiring and work involved in setting it up right. I put a carb on it instead.
Go to Ebay and buy the "TPI swap handbook" it's around $20 shipped and will give you an idea on the stuff you'll need to do this right.
First thing is first. If your going to go from a carburated application to a fuel injection system you will need to upgrade your entire fuel system. New high pressure fuel injection fuel pump, new filters, and bigger fuel lines. Thats a good place to start
I almost forgot - there is a good book out there about swapping fuel injection on to non FI cars - look for it in your bookstore. Chevy Fuel Injection Swapper's Guide or something.
