Default emissions-legal sidepipe setup??

I know how much it sucks for those of us with 1975 and later vettes who live in states with strict emissions regulations. I have a 75 stingray (first year where the cars were originally equipped with cats, and therefore need them to pass emissions in vermont) and I've een trying to figure out what to do about my new sidepipes. Have any of you heard of catalytic converters that are like the baffled mufflers you can put in sidepipes, where you can just slip them in? That would be great... if not, sidepipes with built in, hidden converters could be a real business oppertunity.

I have not heard of any legal mods for catalytic converters. They need to be fairly close to the engine so they stay hot enough and legal replacements must be C.A.R.B. certified. The only good solution is to hollow out the old one or buy a high flow certified unit. Basically, you're stuck with stock or you are illegal.

I asked the same question, here is the link to the thread. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...8&forum_id=119 . I have a 1976 that has to pass smog. If your state is tough on the visual part you will definatley fail, if not you could get two high flow cats and use those instead.
