I'm bumping up the horsepower in my '79 Vette with the addition of a big block. It should be pumping out 450 horse on pump gas. What should I expect with regards to my cooling system? Is there anything else I'll have to change besides the radiator? I'm thinking about electric fans as well, with this car being street driven, is this a good idea?
De Witts alum rad, good seals, and you will have no problems. He has a kit wit dual spals.
I run mechanical w / shroud, but the rad is the key.
I changed over to a big block back in the summer. I kept the same DeWitt small-block aluminum radiator with dual Spals and I have no problems. Seals are critical.
