I'm currently rebuilding my '79 L-82, stroking to 383 and looking to make around 500HP. My builder thinks and the cam manufacturer specs back him up, Comp Cam XR282HR-10, 9" Hg @ 800 RPM & 11.5" Hg @ 1100 RPM w/ no load, that vacuum for power brakes will be marginal at best.
Haven't got the engine back in the car yet so I can't say in actuality that this is going to be a problem, but I've seen a couple of cars on this site that have about the same engine specs.
Anyone have this problem that would care to share their experience.
thats abpout what i have for vacuum with my edelbrock RPM cam in my 327. brakes seem no different then the were with the 327/300 engine used to be in there.
