Default Edlebrock AVS Thunder series

I just took off my 750 Edlebrock #1411 carb in favor of an 1806. It runs good but sometimes I think it's lean and I haven't had it on the dyno yet. I know the AVS is supposed to be 'Adjustable Valve Secondaries' or something like that but I've got no idea what or how.

The book that was in my box was a red book from the 1400-series Performer carbs so it has nothing in it about the AVS Thunder carbs unfortunately. I'm heading over to Eldebrock's website right now but figured I'd drop this on the Forum first ...

It may just be as obvious as all getout too. I will have to get under the hood and see for myself. Obviously if I want the secondaries to open easier it's going to require a few test drives to make sure that I'm adjusting the setup in the right direction so it could be an expensive day!

Here's a pic of the carb. Unless my memory has completely gone south (a good possibility ) you loosen the torx screw while you are holding the flat blade screw. Then move the flat blade screw counterclockwise to increase the opening rate or clockwise to decrease it. You should only move it a little at a time, something along the lines of 1 hour increments on the hour hand of a clock. Once you move it to where you want it tighten the torx screw down to hold the adjustment. Don't go King Kong on the screws, just snug them down. I would mark the original position of the adjustment screw just in case you want to return it to the factory setting. Good luck.
