Trailing arm dissasembly question (already off car)
I tried searching old posts but couldn't find anything on this, so my apologies if this has been covered recently. I am trying to take apart my rear trailing arms, and want to make sure I'm taking them apart properly. They are out of my car and on a bench. I removed the calipers and rotars. On one side I removed the emergency brake shoes and hardware, but shouldn't the spindle/hub really come out first before this is done? Is the spindle and hub pressed in? I also removed the cotter pins and nuts on the insides and removed those pieces already. I want to completely dissasemble them and get the arms blasted and coated before putting them back together. Thanks for any help. I almost looked at sending them in for rebuild, but decided to tack the job myself to save on the budget a bit. Maybe there is a web site that outlines a step-by-step process? Help!
This will give you a bump...I wish you luck and I am sure that someone will chime in.
I looked into doing it myself and decided it was beyond my abilities (especially tool wise). On top of that my arms were shot so I traded them in for new complete arms...it was worth the money in my opinion...
