Default March BB serpentine conversion kits

Who has experience and or advice with this system? I am running tall valve covers and cannot seem to match up the clearances. Is it worth the $$?

Look up GROOVYJAY, then go to his site.

By the way, someone here was selling a nice set
for the Big Block. $500.00, the pully setup is from march,
and he did not need it anymore. He may chime in. I cannot
remember who it was that e-mailed me. Sorry.

Got mine from Summit, I couldn't be happier. The quality is top drawer but it comes with a price too.

The system I am looking at is the March front mount compact deluxe design. One of the problems is my tall valve covers and this system stays below them (according to the website) Anybody seen this in real life?

On a bb IIRC you have to notch that crossmember as well as some other "minor frame adjustments".

I was looking at the same setup. I am not sure how they can make a short water set up fit in front of the motor unless they are extending the crank and water pump pulleys. If this is the case you may have to notch the cross member or make sure the crank pulley is of a small enough diameter so it will clear the cross member.

Have you looked at Street and Performance?

I would love to know the answer to that one. I am ready to order one from JEGS but I am afraid to. Surely someone has done this set-up in their car.

JUST DAMN!!! I feel like Goldilocks (one is too tall, one is too long, one is too wide etc.) Maybe I will eventually find a serpentine set-up that's JUST RIGHT!

Take a look at Concept One Pulley systems.

These guys use to restore Vettes.....and still do on occasion.

I am in the process of putting a big block in my '76 with the March compact kit. We had to cut a notch out of the frame to clear the tensioner. We avoided any other frame mods by putting spacers under the engine mounts to move the engine up ever so slightly. The March brackets required some modification too. We had to trim off an ear that was under the a/c compressor because it touched part of the upper control arm. Now everything fits fine, and looks great too.

I am running the March twin serpentine big block system that requires a long water pump.

It was easy to do the frame mods. All you have to do is pound down the lip edge on the cross member. No cutting or welding needed.

Everything else fits perfect with no interference problems on valve covers or body/suspension.

Don't know if you can see much here:

Thanks, checking on it in the AM. The picture with your Camaro shows the crank pulley to be extending too far for my build. Hopefully they have a tighter set-up. Good price!!

I know they have (or had) a BB setup in a 67 vette with their system on it. I'm sure they can answer your questions.

I don't like how it spreads the alternator and the air condition out so far. I prefer short belts and everything infront of the motor.
