What things on your Vette have u fixed, using JB (cold) Weld ??
My steering control box was seeping a tiny amount of fluid from the bottom , so, i cleaned it up real good lightly sanded the spot the used rubbing alchohol to clean it up some more. When it was dried, i mixed equal parts of JB Weld and applyed it. I let it set up for 2 days then i took the vette out for a long spins. Inspected the steering control box and no signs of leakage at all.
I was just wondering what things you have fixed on your vette, using this stuff. It is pretty remarkable stuff and paintable too.

KS,
JB WELD is an Epoxee . It comes with 2 tubes in the package. You mix equal amounts and simply apply to whatever youre wanting to fix. It is very important to get the surface clean with either some find sandpaper and/or rubbing alchohol with a cloth. You apply it and let it set up. It is not runny when it comes out of the tubes, so, you can apply it and smooth it over once its on the surface you want fixed. It can be used as a filler, or as an adhesive, or as a bonding glue. When it dries, it is rock solid and can be sanded and/or painted.I think it fully cures in 24 hours...and 48 hours is even better. You can handle it after about 4 hours. It is a grey color when it dries. I noticed there are 2 kinds available now - the one kind is more for around the house repairs. ANd the other kind is for machinery , etc. I believe the package says that it will withstand 3000 psi of pressure and 2000 degrees of heat. It is dirt cheap ...around 4 or 5 american dollars, and you can get it at most hardware stores / Menards for sure.

Lessee, fixed a rusted out spot on a seat track, stopped my Quadrajet leaks up, repaired a headlight actuator, and fixed the frame cracks around my A-arm mounts. Okay, not the last one.

Fixed my vacuum tank, had some rust holes in the bottom. Cleaned ground out the rust from the outside. Put some POR-15 inside it and shook up, poured the excess out. Then I put JB Weld in the rust holes on the outside, after it dried I sanded it down and painted the outside of the tank. It is tight as a drum now.

I once used it on a 12HP riding lawn mower engine that the rod put about a 3" square hole in the side of the block. I JB welded a 8th inch thick square piece of aluminum over it and it has now been running over 5 years now with out leaking a drop through the patch. Pretty amazing stuff. :yesnod:
