Junk yard Fans
I am using a dual fan from a Chrysler, and it just ain't cutting it. I think it would be just great if it didn't run so slow (designed to be quiet I think).
Can anyone recommend another fan that I can get from a junk yard that will cool my big block a bit better?
I already have a high performance radiator that keeps the car cool without a fan up to about 60 degrees or so.
Thanks,
John.

Re: Junk yard Fans (mrvette)
Well, I got a set from the junk yard today that is off a late 80's GM. it is a large fan with a resistor for two speeds and a small fan that goes next to it. If they both fit, I will hook the small one up to come on when the oil pressure is up, the low speed on the large one to come on at about 190 and the high speed to come on at about 205-210. I built a little opamp circuit that uses a GM temp gauge sensor and will activate the two relays for the two speeds. Hope it works.

I really wish I had a picture but I use a fan out of a 1990 Buick Century which I got from the wreckers. If fits nicely behind the stock 74 shroud. I even went to GM and got the factory harness plug for it. I wired it to run all the time. It's good for when you need to cool down faster after an autocross run.
