Good idea. Should help flow.

trust me, it's a HELL of a lot easier to do it this route. Even if you run an STi style intercooler, you'll be fine
No its not.

This has absolutely nothing to do with the intercooler. THe intercooler is simple.

Once you've gone through the process of fabricating a twin turbo system for our cars, you'll understand why placing the turbo's in front of the engine is a good option.

Monty to you remember how far it was from left to right in your setup there at its widest? approximately?

I am figuring my 34" wide shelf is about as wide as I am gonna get.

No, but the headers, turbos, wastegates, downpipes, etc had to be removed porior to removing or installing the engine, then reinstalled after the engine was in place. I'd say it was a good 2-3" wider than the hood opening. It could probably be made a little narrower by tucking the primary's closer to the heads and valvecovers but I wanted to make sure the sparkplugs and valvecovers could be removed without having to remove any of the turbo system.

Given that the radiator is 31" I am hoping that 34" is pretty close.
