A/C repair info
For several years now, have not been able to keep a freon charge for more than a month - doesn't leak out overnight, just a slow death.
So, decided to use some of that stop leak stuff as a last resort to a more expensive repair.
First step was to put Pro-Dry in that converts any moisture to a synthetic oil compatible to all systems.
Second step - Stop Leak to seal any leaking o-rings and hoses.
Third step - Pro-Seal that seals metal leaks up to anything that will not leak overnight.
Fourth step - Add ES12A, yes, it is a hydrocarbon based refrigerant. But after researching flammability points, its flash point is higher than 134a. ES12A is also compatible with all oils and with R12, so no need to flush system.
Now, several months later, still charged up, and the system cools down very well. So cold yesterday (outside temps 80*) that I had to turn a/c down almost as low as it would go. Yes, 80* is not 100*, but it was so cold I had to turn all vents away from me.
For those who need a fix for less than $100 total, this is the way to go.
