Shrunk soft top remedy
Finally got my soft top stretched out after 18 years of storage in the deck lid. I covered it in Mink oil and let sit in the sun for one day. It took a lot of stretching but I finally got it to latch. Then , let it sit indoors for one week. Every two days I cranked the rear posts down one full turn so the weatherstrip would seal to the decklid. Slight staining was remediated with a vinyl top conditioner. Like new.

Did It hurt the top to leave it stored for 18 years folded down>>> I am curious cause I am scared to leave my down for over a week or two...Alwo wouldn't cold adversely affect the top....But it may be a climate controlled environment

Surprisingly, the top is in great shape other than the natural shrinkage of the vinyl material. Has a few wrinkles that have an ironed over appearance. Mechanically, everything works. Color is good too.
