I need to order my clutch in the morning so hopefully I can get my engine back in this weekend. 454 with about a max of 550 torque with a TKO 500 tranny. I want a street friendly clutch. Options???
A couple of other options you could consider are the McLeod Street Twin and Street Stock setup from Ram.
Street Twin is a dual disc setup and gives exellent hold with @1600 lb static pressure. They offer various wheels based on what you are going to do. Heavy steel wheel is 22 lbs on this combo. Total weight was around 50lb. Aluminum wheel can shave 10-12 lbs off of this.
I used the Ram clutch on a Nova, but components should be the same. Use the organic disc for street duty. Total package was around 40lbs even with steel wheel. Single disc so static pressure is around 2800 lb.
My CF DF has held up to several years of street driving and close to a hundred drag strip runs. It has a light peddle and still holds great even though I slip it to control traction off the line at the strip.
