Default Reverse Lights Adjustment Switch

I was diagnosing the problem with the reverse lights not working.

Jacked around with a test light and Fluke.

After 20min. I noticed the lights do work.

But, they quickly work when sliding into Reverse from Park.

Where is the adjuster/sliding switch?

The car is not on jack-stands or a lift at the moment.

I did a brief search and didnt find anything (gotta learn how to do the archives search deal)

Thanks,

Jim the switch is mounted directly to the shifter. You'll need to remove the cover plate and maybe the console to get to it.

You can loosen the screws and move it around so that the switch makes contact.

Inside or outside of the car?

I really want to remove the console and assembly so I can review the wooden block Bubba stuffed in there to hold up the radio.....NOT!

I got several projects for when the console is removed....I will have to retain self-control and not start them...hopefully.
big projects, like heat barrier, carpet, finding Bubba's speaker and antenna wiring, ect...)

So, inside or outside?

Inside. You may be able to get it without taking your console off and getting into those while-I'm-at-its. You can see and reach the shifter ratchet/bracket if you just take the side panels off (the carpetted things). The switch is on there, you can probably move it around enough to get it in the right place.

There are some pics in this thread of the bracket/wiring/etc.

Thanks...as I looked at the thread; it will be a "while-I'm-at-it" deal no other way around it, I see I can sneek in and adjust the reverse lights actuator switch...
But now that I see some familiar Bubb'rized items (ie. power antenna relay, I have a new OEM powered antenna waiting for an install and 3 antenna wires along with bou coup "ball-0-snakes" speaker wires), I will have to do some other repairs...which will have me pulling the seats and carpets to do it correctly.

Freekin' Bubba travels from state-to-state, country-to-country to mass produce his auto repair skills

Thanks Again...I can see fishing is out this weekend
