I'm working on my parking brakes, trying to get them working and adjusted properly.
I've removed the shoes and the hardware and all seems to be in very good condition, however I'm unsure as to the minimum thickness of the shoes before replacement is necessary.
Can anyone tell me how thick the parking brake shoes(linings) should be?
I cannot tell you what the exact thickness should be, but I believe they are fairly thin to start with. The only thing they do is hold the car in place, not stop it, so they don't need to be as thick as traditional pads or shoes.
