Default Parking brake shoes

I'm working on my parking brakes, trying to get them working and adjusted properly.

I've removed the shoes and the hardware and all seems to be in very good condition, however I'm unsure as to the minimum thickness of the shoes before replacement is necessary.

Can anyone tell me how thick the parking brake shoes(linings) should be?

TIA

Dave

I cannot tell you what the exact thickness should be, but I believe they are fairly thin to start with. The only thing they do is hold the car in place, not stop it, so they don't need to be as thick as traditional pads or shoes.

Pull the lever on the inside up about 6 or 7 clicks and than make the adjustment on the cable until the wheels will not turn.
