Found the 7 cyl problem. Not good :(
Well I found out why my car is running on 7 cylinders on Friday night and I things don't look good.
Pulled of the valve cover on the drivers side the problem was staring me in the face. The intake valve for cylinder number 3 is stuck open. Yes the valve is seized in the open position. What's worse is that this bent the push rod which has now fallen back down through the head and I can see through one of the holes in the head, it is sitting in that valley under the intake manifold.
Given the serious now of this problem and my lack of mechanical skill and time, the car is going to have to be carted off to my local Corvette mechanic to be fixed. I'd hate to think how much this is going to cost me.
I now only have 2 weeks left to get the car to it's annual inspection before if becomes unregistered. How the timing and luck here

Don't be surprised if the valve is bent too...man that sucks. You can save yourself some money by taking off the heads yourself and taking the heads to a good shop. Taking the heads off is a piece of cake.

Yeah I can imagine that I would save a bit taking the manifold and heads off, but unfortunately I'm scheduled for 12 hour days and working my weekend for the rest of this month. I just don't have the time.
