Default intake manifold

Searching around ebay and I say this...http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/CHEVY...spagenameZWDVW seem like a good buy to keep the stock BB hood on a 71? or seem like too risky?

I got news for you. That thing isn't going to fit under the stock hood anyway. Edelbrock makes one manifold that will fit under the stock C3 hood.

How weird. Looks like they just started randomly going to work with a die grinder. I guess they got bored before they had a chance to finish all of the ports.

Sorry but BigBlockk is correct, and the torker isn't worth a flip either, unless you've got a 396.

This is the only dual plane, spread bore, aluminum intake manifold I know of that will fit under the stock Big Block C3 hood. They were used on the '68 and '69 L36 390 horse 427's.

Would that manifold be better than the stock manifold on a 71 454?

The only difference in the two is the L36 is made of aluminum.

I think ist the same only lighter.

Re the uneven ports in the Performer on Ebay, the Torker II Oval also has uneven ports like that. The discontinued Holley Street dominator oval port manifold will also fit under the stock BB hood.

Default Holley street Dom?

Hmm, well I have heard both!! Some have said that the Holley will fit others say that it will NOT fit. I guess I am just going to have to buy one. I do have a L-36 on the shelf just in case. I would like to hear if anyone has had good experience with the Street Dominator making power in a mild 454 or a more radical 454....

I need to swap and tink with the old girl. Usually the Holley intake can be had for ~ $100 on ebay.

The key on the performer is getting the drop down air unit on top!! No problem then, and same with maybe some others.

Hi. This is a little off-point, but does anyone have experince with the Edelbrock 2 x 4 manifold? I am about to begin to build a 540 inch bigblock for my '75. It will have rectangular port chevy heads and I have been looking at the EB Performer-RPM cam and the 2 x 4 manifold.

So a performer rpm manifold will work under a c3 hood with a drop down air unit?

Is there and draw backs to using drop downs?

I have a 1/2 inch spacer and the Holley Street dominator with 3" drop base aircleaner and stock hood. I added runner extensions to it and it better than low rise LS6 manifold.

I am sure that the '71 LS-6 454 intake for a Holley will also fit. It was rated 325 Net HP or 425 Gross HP.

none that I know of..

Edit: You may want to purchase a banjo fitting for you carb. The straight out type gas lines can interfere.

Please read the post. I said "spread bore" manifold. The LS6 was a "square bore" manifold. Also, I never think in terms of Holley carburetors anyway.
