Default '77 Vette--- Changing Heater Core????

I am wanting to know what is involved in changing the heater core out on this year of Vette. I am use to working on the C4's.
Please help.

Do a search here for instructions. Its not that tough. Once you have all the parts out and out of the way the core box comes out in a few minutes.

This link should also help http://www.corvettefaq.com/c3/heatercoreremoval.pdf

I don't know about A/C cars, but I changed the one on my '77 from the engine compartment. It is on the passanger side firewall. Detach the hoses, take out the bolts on the cover and remove the heater core. You might have to cut out some of the insulation and then angle it out.

It took me less than an hour to replace it...

good luck!!!

For cars with A/C you would be better off going through the interior. I dont think you can get to it from the engine compartment.

Either A/C or non A/C, check the size of the new core to the old. On my 78 the replacement core was about 1/8 inch taller and after struggling to get it in the box,(wouldn't fit) I realized the difference.

Needed to knock off the ends of some of the screws protruding into the open box to get the new core to fit in.

Just an fyi.
