I replaced the master cylinder and all 4 calipers along with some of the lines about a yr ago. Since then I'm losing brake fluid. Not a lot, just a little. Enough that it warrants being checked periodically. I dont drive the car much either. Anway I cant find a puddle or wet spot anywhere. Where is it going? Can the m/c be bad and leaking internally ? Brakes work fine. pulls a little to the right but I figure a re-bleed should take care of that. Car is a 79 w/ p/b. As always, suggestions appreciated.
Thx, ESU in NY
If you used rebuilt calipers there is a possibility of the seals leaking. You may find your brake fluid once you remove a caliper or two. Had similar problems earlier this year, found the fluid there, replaced all 4 calipers with no problems since.
I wish I could tell you but I had to take mine into the shop. That kind of work is not my fortay, but thats what happened. The shop also told me that it could have failed the oppsite way and then your brakes will lock up.If nobady responds soon I Will find out tomorrow for ya.How is your pedal pressure and does your brake light come on?.I'm thinking not and you are in the first stage of the failure. No telling how long it will take.

just roll it in flour and look for the wet spot....
"How can I tell if the m/c is leaking into the booster" pull the vacuum line off of it and see if any brake fluid is present, i would think it would be present in the vacuum tubes going to the intake

You said car pulls to the right, check the left front caliper. I had replaced my calipers and had also had a small leak that I couldn't find accompanied by pulling to the left. It turned out to be the right front rebuilt caliper was bad. replaced that and all is now well, at least with the brakes.......

-Pete. KEEP DRIVING!!!
I'll take a look but might have to wait till the weather warms up a tad. The brakes overall feel fine, just that little pull, not spongy at all.
