I was given a new Edelbrock 3225 single plane Intake that I was going to put on my 77 Vette rebuilt stock L82, but had second thoughts about how it would perform on a daily driver. I am thinking that I should sell or trade it for a dual plane manifold. What are your thoughts?
Thanks, Rob
Well I've been running a torker for the past 2 years and even though I tried everything, the engine stumbles if I floor it. So, my solution was a dual plane manifold that I'm installing soon... I can't tell you if it will solve the problem, but I sure hope it will!
Dual plane manifild would be better for your daily driver. Dual plane design is more for tourque and mid range and single plane more suited for the top end HP. If you're not going to be running the straight aways at Daytona anytime soon stick with the dual plane, houstonvett
As a rule of thumb a dual plane intake will give you better throttle response and drivability as well having a lower powerband. The lower powerband will generally give you better overall performance on a driver.
Thanks for the information. I suspected that I would get stay with the Dual Plane Manifold, but it is always good to get some other opinions. Anyone interested in a single plane manifold?
