Default HydroBoost install ? for those that have been there.

My unit has the 'correct' flange on it. Noval's posting seemed to be directed towards the large flange unit, where you had to remove some of the flange. He spoke of rotating the flange 180 so that the booster mounted 'upside down'. He stated you could not just turn the unit over and have it work. Is this also true for the correct bracket? I have tried mine both ways and don't see any difference, so am I correct that this flange does not need to be turned 180?

So you have the nitrogen cyl closer to the exhaust? My assumption was that flipping the unit was done mainly for clearance / keeping exhaust heat away from the gas.

flipping it gives more clearance and you don't see the liens but it's not necessary. To flip it, remove the booster from the rbacket by removing the nut on the back (carefull, the nut is aluminium..easy to break) and then remove the little locating tang inside the flange bore, then you can mount the booster in any position you want.

The exhaust is nowhere near close enough to the unit to be problematic.

Thanks TT. I can install my unit upside down without flipping the flange. It seems to fit either way. I'll probably do it upside down for clearance & looks.

I don't cut the flange, I just rotate it. To rotate it like twin turbo said you have to remove the little tit. I then add a new one to the other side or 180 degrees out and reinstall the plate.'
I really prefer the brass canister on the outside away from the valve cover for more clearance.
