Default running frame

I have the motor and trans back in and the motor started. I had to heat treat the header paint within 7 days after painting. I have a video of it running, the video is poor but the sound is good. I razor bladed the paint off on half body today. that really worked well.

Hey Mark, what brand/type paint did you use? I got the body off mine Sat. The headers are pretty rough, but if I could restore them like yours I may do that for the time being.

I used VHT flameproof header paint, good to 2000 degrees. several people on this forum said they had good luck with it.

man those headers get hot on a big block
my 383 had ceramic coated headers and ran around 350 degrees, theese are not coated and run over 530 degrees. (the limit of my infared temp gun) does the ceramic coating make that much difference or is it a big block thing?

This is the 2nd thread I've seen about using razor blades to remove paint. I did a search but only came up with this thread.

Is there a place where I can get more info on this process?

Thanks.

felt great because I was finally working on the body and not the chassis(it's done)

Vetteman, it is really easy you just have to get it started with corner of the blade, once you have a paint edge just work the blade under it and go with it. keep a sharp blade and the paint will come off in long ribbons. you will get a feel for it in no time. it usually takes off one or two layers at a time. if I can get my son out there tomorrow I will try and get a video of it. not sure how that will come out
