Default need help

I have a 69 conv. one of the previous owners removed the air pump and installed plugs in the exhaust manifolds. the problem i have is i changed sprk plugs and hit one of the plugs in the exhaust manifold it came out and now guess what i have an exhaust leak. couldn't get the plug back in. now i have a hole open in the exhaust manifold tried a 1/4" pipe plug no help. bought a tap that matched the pipe plug wouldn't screw in. what do i do now?

If you just hit it and it came off, it can't have been in very well. Can you get to it straight without taking it off? If so, I would drill it and either tap it or use a drive in plug (like a freeze plug). If you can't, then you will have to take it off.
