I have done the search of the usual online suspects for a "bushing" kit for my '79. Can anyone reccomend one kit over the other? The "metal" parts are fine on my car - it is just the bushings that need replaced so I don't need all the extra components that most want to sell you.
So I guess my question is, does anyone sell a "kit" that contains all the rubber/poly bushings required to rebuild the entire suspension front to back? Second question, should I go for stock rubber or the poly type? My car is 100% stock and I want to keep it that way but I know poly last longer and are supposed to be better?
I can't recommend either, or this seller but here's some links to complete kits. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/63-82...QQcmdZViewItem
eBay Motors: 63-82 CORVETTE FRONT SUSPENSION KIT / POLY BUSHINGS (item 8043054335 end time Mar-07-06 19:03:10 PST)
Summit and Jeg's both have the best retail price I've seen on the Energy Suspension "Hyperflex" kits (in black or red) - around $180+shipping. I got mine on eBay for $130, shipping included. The kit comes with just about everything but the body mounts and engine mounts. Now I just need to convince ES to run off some red body mounts...
Poly lasts much longer than rubber, gives a tighter suspension feel, and doesn't squeak if you grease it properly. The ES kit comes with grease, I might get some extra. The old poly bushings were supposed to squeak like mad, but that problem has been largely corrected.

Those ebay kits have balljoints and tie rods, I think the OP was looking for the same thing but w/o those. Are those jegs/summit Energy kits just the bushing parts? Might Vansteel or VPB gather up what's needed and sell you only what you need? I'm gonna be in the same place soon (ball joints and tie rods are brand new on my car) and looking for the same thing, so here's a TTT and a
The ES kits are just bushings (plus poly tie rod and ball joint boots and the transmission mount). You can get good MOOG chassis parts at CarQuest and many other parts stores.
You could always try calling Dan at Van Steel and ask if he sells just the bushings. I put poly bushings in my control arms but the car isn't on the road yet so no report of how they work. If you want to stay all original stick with rubber bushings. They won't last as long as poly but they will probably last a good 15 or 20 years. Depending on how old you are you may never have to replace them again.
Rick B. (I KNOW I'll never have to replace my bushings again.)
