Does anyone have info on these two types of spark plugs? I put Halo-plugs in my cobra and immediately had a smoother running engine (350 ZZ3) especially when cold. I can’t really say what happened on the performance side, but it felt simply better than the regular ACs that were in before. Now I have a ’71 C3 also with a ZZ3 putting out approx. 380HP. I have stumbled on a plug from BERU (BERU Ultra X Platin) and was wondering which would be best??? Anyone???
I am always suspicious of hyped up spark plugs. My guess is that you had the wrong heat range before and the new plugs heat range was better for you so it runs better now.
I know there is more than just heat range to spark plugs but heat range is the first place to look at when evaluating how a certain plug brand performs in a given engine. Once you have established the baseline for your engines best heat range using one brand, try another brand and see if it runs better.
Yes, that makes sense. Do you know where I can get some benchmarks on my ZZ3 (350cid) engine to acquire a baseline. Perhaps someone who also has a ZZ3 engine? I bought the car as is and I have only a limited amount of knowledge. My recourses in Germany are equally limited.
Thanks, Wayne
i heard that platinum plugs suck..... i put a set in my 4 cylinder sonoma and after 8 months or so they stopped wroking....they burned up and the gap was almost 50%+ bigger.....truck wouldn't start either....... the neighbor told me that there is only a small portion on the plug that is platinum and is what fails.....not sure if that is true...... but no platnum ones 4 me
