Default Rollbar with factory seats?

Has anyone made a NHRA/IHRA legal 6pt. rollbar that can keep the factory seats in a 78-82 model car? We have the main hoop and down bars installed, but the door bars just don't seem to want to work with the factory seats and door panels. We're thinking about just leaving it as a 4pt. and worry about the door bars if they yell at us. Car will be an 11 sec ride.

There are several people on the forum with 6 or more point cages. I know about a local owned 79 with the fator passenger seat still in it. His is NHRA cert 1 3/4 .130 mild steel. It seems to me that when I rode in it the bar was touching the arm rest. Other than that it complied with the 45 degree crossing down between the shoulder and elbow.

Pics would be extremely helpful if anyone has them.

Needs to have both factory seats, not just passenger FYI.

It took me a while to find this. You can see that the pass seat is just folded down. He told me that the sparco is wider than a factory seat. So it is mounted clear over against the tunnel.

..... am pondering the same.... I'm thinking I may take-off the arm-rest that is bolted to the door, and fabricating-up a door-pull that would fit 'outside' the door-bar (snug, against the door-panel when closed ) from small-diameter tubing.....

Does that person post on here at all? It would be nice to see how that's done up on the passenger side from different angles (preferably a top view), although I think it prevents the seat from going back by a significant amount, which is a big no-no for me (I'm 6'2" with long legs). The bar looks like it goes between the door and the Sparco in one of the narrower points in the seat, although it obviously makes no difference since the passenger seat is still factory.

We were thinking about doing the same with the door panel and arm rest, although that wasn't the main problem. The problem is between the back of the seat and the sail panel, it looks like there isn't enough room to even get a bar between the two.

I have a 12 point with factory seats but it is a 75. I did narrow the lower hinges by 1 inch to clear one of the 3 side bars. The middle bar right below the window was no problem but I did push it as far outboard as possible.
