Default whatsamajigger?

Hi all, we had a new motor put in the '79. Nothing fancy, just a 260HP kit from JEGS. Came with all the tins, intake, carb, dist., etc. My problem is that it has a performer intake and carb but I cant hook up the kick down for the transmission to the carb. Do I need a special part to do this?

Thanks a bunch.

Are you just missing the round bolt that goes in the lower part of the carb linkage or the complete TV bracket. You can get the bracket that mounts to the carb base stud for 14.00 at any Autozone, Orielly's , etc.

I'm not sure what I need. The guy who did the motor swap for me told me I needed the part that the kickdown for the transmission attached to. That was at the end of last fall and the car has been in storage since. I will take a look, but it sounds like I should be able to get something at the local Auto Advantage. Thanks.

Well if you have the cable coming up the back of the manifold, you wilkl need the bracket with the "square hole" that it plugs into. You will also need the "lug" on the arb that the cable end slides into. Either of these parts are readily available.

My 700r4 has the square-hole-bracket that is bolted to the two rearmost intake manifold bolts (drivers side). I've seen this same bracket on lots of GM V8s in junkyards. Carb is a Q-Jet with original lug/hole/thingy so can't help you there.
