Default Brake Blues, Need Advice Please

I have a 74' vette that i purchased about a year ago. it was poorly maintained. the brakes were bad. i have replaced the m/c,booster and front calipers. when i disconnected the left front brake hose, brake fluid started flowing out and did not not stop until the cylinder was empty. the right side did not do this. both sides bled out ok. brakes are fair, but not good enough to put on the road. i will replace the rear when money permits. the car had new rotors and pads on it when i purchased it. the brakes dont go to the floor nor do i get the brake light but there appears to be too much brake pedal travel. can anyone help?

Are the back calipers bleeding ok? Do the rear calipers leak?

My '76 assembly manual states that there should be a maximum of 1.8 inches of pedal travel with 80lbs of pressure with the engine off.

Did you replace the rubber brake hoses?
